Duran Duran: Cornwall, UK is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Rio Tour at the Cornwall Coliseum in St. Austell, Cornwall, UK on 22 November 1982.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Cornwall Coliseum, a former venue located at Carlyon Bay in St. Austell. This was the twentieth show of twenty seven dates performed in the UK on the tour.
Featured on the album is the only show ever played by Duran Duran in the seaside county of Cornwall.
This is a rare recording containing a full concert of the tour. Included are powerful versions of "Hold Back the Rain", "Sound of Thunder" and "Friends of Mine". During "Planet Earth" Simon Le Bon forgets the right lyrics.
There is a strong performance of Steve Harley's "Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)", plus the crowd are heard singing "My Own Way" during the instrumental intro to the song.
The show finished with "Girls on Film", featuring band introductions.
The album front cover features Duran Duran photography by Nancy Campbell, taken from the Japanese promo issue of "Hungry Like the Wolf" (EMS-172664).
