Diana Tribute: July 1st 2007 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded at the Concert for Diana, Wembley Stadium in London, UK on 1 July 2007.

About the album[]

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at London's new Wembley Stadium, a 90,000 seat venue that opened in 2007. This was a tribute event, held on the day which would have been Princess Diana's 46th birthday and almost on the 10th anniversary of her death.

The concert was hosted by Diana's sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, who also helped with its organisation. The concert was broadcast in 140 different countries across the world. Tickets cost around £45.00.

Comments by Simon Le Bon:
"We first met Diana in 1983 at a Prince's Trust concert (Rock Gala) in London and were immediately struck by her remarkable charisma and charm. She was effervescent, with a passion for everything she did, and she always loved both music and the arts. "The concert next summer seems an entirely fitting way to celebrate her life and her work. We are honoured that she always referred to Duran Duran as her favourite band as she was certainly our favourite princess. We are delighted to have been asked to participate in what promises to be a very special event."

Comments by Anna Ross:
Vocalist Anna Ross later commented that the Concert for Diana was amazing. I loved the focus on celebrating a person’s life and their achievements and commitments. Also I did get to party that night, and I introduced myself to Prince William.
