Diamond Club is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Secret Caravan Club Tour at the Diamond Club in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 31 October 1988.
About the album[]
The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Diamond Club, a one time punk and indie-rock venue located at at 410 Sherbourne Street which later became the Phoenix Concert Theatre.
On tour in support of their latest release Big Thing on 18 October 1988, Duran Duran got back to basics and began playing small clubs in the North America. After eight dates, the tour reached Toronto for this sold out show.
The album features the first part of the show, including back-to-back performances of Duran Duran's forthcoming single "All She Wants Is", with the band's debut single "Planet Earth".
The recording of "Notorious" is incomplete, finishing after only one minute. This is common among bootlegs during this period for "Notorious" or the preceding "Girls on Film", because people were always flipping the cassette over at this point of the show.
