Clearwater is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Pop Trash Tour at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL, USA on 2 January 2001.
About the album[]
The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Ruth Eckerd Hall, a 2,180 capacity venue located at 1111 McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater. The show was the 6th of eight dates performed in the state of Florida on the tour.
After two mini shows at Disney World in Orlando on New Year's Eve, Duran Duran played three shows in the USA. This is the first of two concerts performed in Clearwater with opening act Joseph Graye, while the third was at the Level in Miami.
The evening began with Joseph Graye, an artist who played a mix of classic rock, jazz and reggae.
Duran Duran, now composed of original members Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes, along with Warren Cuccurullo on guitar, played a rousing 90-minute show that featured a selection of their biggest hits, album favorites and songs from their latest release, Pop Trash.
It would be over 10 years later when Duran Duran returned to the Ruth Eckerd Hall, for the Clearwater show on 10 October 2011.
The album also includes two bonus tracks, that comprise of telephone interviews with band members. The second interview features "Playing With Uranium", played at the end of the recording.
