Cedar Grove is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Rio Tour at the Meadowbrook Ballroom in Cedar Grove, NJ, USA on 23 June 1982.
About the album[]
The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Meadowbrook Ballroom, a venue located on Route 23 that was once home to American entertainer Frank Dailey.
This was the only show performed by the band in the state of New Jersey on the tour.
After playing in Australia and Japan, the tour reached New Jersey's Meadowbrook Ballroom for the first USA show of sixteen dates on The Rio Tour. The band would also perform more US dates supporting Blondie.
On tour in support of their second studio album Rio, Duran Duran played a selection of tracks from the new album including the band's current single "Hungry Like the Wolf". The single was later re-released in the USA and peaked at no.3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 1983.
