Burning Bright is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Sing Blue Silver Tour at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, USA on 19 March 1984.

About the album[]

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at Madison Square Garden, a 20,000 capacity venue located at 8th Avenue in the New York City borough of Manhattan. This was the second of four shows performed in the state of New York on the tour.

The evening began with opening act Prince Charles & The City Beat Band, who had previously performed at the British MENCAP Concert which Duran Duran headlined in July 1983.

The instant the lights went out, and the first strains of "Tiger Tiger" came over on the PA system, the crowd started screaming. The stage curtains finally opened and Duran Duran launched their first ever show at Madison Square Garden.

The audience erupted when the band kicked off with "Is There Something I Should Know?", as a giant video screen above the stage projected live footage of the performance.

The show continued with Duran Duran's first US Hit Single "Hungry Like the Wolf", played almost one year after it peaked at no.3 on 26 March 1983.

On tour in support of their third studio album, Seven and the Ragged Tiger, "The Reflex" was the first of six songs taken from the album during the evening. The show finished with "Girls on Film", featuring band introductions.

Tickets for the event cost around $16.00.

Duran Duran continued the tour two days later, playing the Madison Square Garden show on 21 March.

The bootleg artwork includes photography by Francesco Scavullo on the front and reverse cover.
