Bogotá 2008 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Red Carpet Massacre Tour at the Coliseo El Campín in Bogotá, Colombia on 12 November 2008.

About the album[]

The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Coliseo El Campín, a 25,000 capacity indoor venue built in 1973.

This was a benefit concert in favour of the Juan Felipe Gómez Escobar Foundation, which was also the fourth of nine South American dates on the tour.

After Colombian rock band Los de Adentro opened the show, Duran Duran took to the stage and began their set with "The Valley" from the Red Carpet Massacre album.

The concert setlist was slightly different, which didn't include the Kraftwerk style electroset. The bootleg finishes with "Ordinary World", which was performed just before the final song of the show "Rio".

Tickets for the event cost COL$250.000 (USD 125), COL$150.000 (USD 75) COL$100.000 (USD 50) and COL$60.000 (USD 30).

Band comments:
Speaking backstage from their final European concert in Italy, Simon Le Bon said how much they were looking forward to performing in South America. “These are going to be extremely exciting shows for us,” he said, “taking a very different format to the last world tour we did in 2006. We are introducing a lot of new elements into the mix - both musically and in terms of the staging. We have been working on completely different arrangements for some of the older material and will be integrating a lot of our latest record into the performances. We need to keep things fresh, not only for ourselves, but also for our audiences, who can be assured of a lot of surprises with this new production.”

John Taylor added, “South American audiences have to be amongst the best in the world. Every time we go there we are charged by the energy that they give us back. We haven’t done a complete run of dates in this part of the world for some time now and we can’t wait."
