The song was written by Stephen Duffy and Nick Rhodes, two members of the first incarnation of Duran Duran in 1978.
"Big Store" is a mid-tempo electronic song in the style of The Human League. The track features deep sounding vocals performed by Stephen Duffy, with additional vocals by Sally Boyden and Elvie.
