Bang Music Festival 2006: Duran Duran is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Astronaut Tour at the Bang Music Festival, Bicentennial Park in Miami, FL, USA on 11 November 2006.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Bang Music Festival, a 1-day event that featured five stages and more than 50 acts. Spread out over 30-acres of lush landscape on the waterfront of Biscayne Bay, the event featured three outdoor stages and two tent stages.
This was the final show of the tour, with Dominic Brown playing guitar. Duran Duran's appearance at Bang was a special live engagement, during a period when the band were recording their new album Red Carpet Massacre.
Headlining the main stage, Duran Duran opened the show with "Hungry Like the Wolf", shortly after an introduction recording of "Burning the Ground". The setlist featured mostly singles from three decades.
A rousing, rocking double encore of the "Girls on Film" and their ultimately defining hit "Rio" closed out the show at midnight.
Tickets for the event cost $55.00 plus applicable service fees.
