Amsterdam, Netherlands: 31-05-05 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Astronaut Tour at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands on 31 May 2005.

About the albumEdit

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Heineken Music Hall, a 5,500 capacity venue located at ArenA Boulevard 590. This was the second of two shows performed in Amsterdam on the tour.

After Dutch electro DJ Joost Van Bellen warmed the crowd up, Duran Duran took to the stage and opened the show with "(Reach Up for The) Sunrise".

Duran Duran quickly transitioned to the classics "Planet Earth", "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Union of the Snake", before playing the title track to their new album Astronaut.

During the evening, the band turned "Sound of Thunder" into Donna Summer's "I Feel Love". "Notorious" unfolded into Sister Sledge's "We Are Family", a song produced by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers.

Near the end of the show, "Girls on Film" featured band introductions with Andy Taylor playing a riff of Free's "All Right Now". When John Taylor was about to be introduced some one in the audience threw a t-shirt on stage, that said 'Play the funky bass John'.

Tickets for the event cost around €39.00.
