A Silent Express are a Dutch pop punk, alternative rock band from Heerenveen in the Netherlands, consisting of Rik Annema (lead singer/guitar), Dirk Sander Kooistra (bass guitar), Henk Jan Kooistra (keyboards), Sanne Meems (drums)
The band were a support act for Duran Duran in 2012.
Background information[]
Inspired by Duran Duran and Simple Minds, the band formed in 2004 and released their self titled debut album A Silent Express in 2005. Two years later they won the Grolsch Grand Prize of the Netherlands in 2007.
In 2014, the band earned a lot of media-exposure at several radio and TV-stations including 3FM, KinkFM (national radio), Club3voor12 and VPRO, 100% NL, TMF (national TV) and several local stations.
