5th Night At Wembley 1983 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Sing Blue Silver Tour at Wembley Arena in London, UK on 23 December 1983.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at Wembley Arena, a 12,500 capacity indoor venue located opposite Wembley Stadium. This was the last of five shows performed in London on the tour.
Australian Crawl led by James Reyne on lead vocals kicked off the evening with a set that included tracks from their latest EP Semantics.
This was the last stop on the 14 date UK tour for Duran Duran, who played a high energy show that included two encores. The band, led by Simon Le Bon on vocals had the audience on their feet for the whole evening.
Duran Duran touring with their newest release, Seven and the Ragged Tiger, played a number of songs from the album, including their current single "Union of the Snake".
In addition to this, the band performed tracks from Rio including "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "The Chauffeur".
After the show it would be over 20 years until the original five members of Duran Duran would return to Wembley Arena to play again, which was on 13 April 2004 during The Reunion Tour.
Tickets for the event cost from around £5.50.
After the concert the band had a holiday with their families before leaving Europe for Japan, where they spent most of January and performed seven shows.
