2003 Studio Demos is an unofficial Duran Duran compilation album, featuring collection of Astronaut demo tracks.
About the album[]
All the songs were written when the five original band members based themselves in the south of France, writing and recording intermittently throughout 2002 and 2003.
Meanwhile Duran Duran searched for a record label and during this period a 'teaser CD' with short demo versions of six unfinished songs was leaked to the Internet. This was quickly copied throughout the band's fan base. This album feaures all those songs.
The band were unhappy about the leak, with the exception of "(Reach Up for The) Sunrise" which became their first single and "Taste the Summer", the leaked songs were not included on Astronaut. "Virus" later appeared as a bonus track on a Japanese version of the album.
The bootleg front cover features photography by Richard Haughton.
