1979 Demo is a demo album by Duran Duran, released by Andywickett Production in 2004.
About the album[]
Written by Andy Wickett, the album was recorded before John Taylor made a full transition to bass guitar and before members Andy Taylor and Simon Le Bon joined the band.
The demo artwork was designed by John Taylor. All the tracks were recorded at Bob Lamb's studios in Birmingham during September 1979, then the unsigned Duran Duran shopped it around to various record labels.
Originally in cassette format, the tracks were made available on a CDr by Andywickett Production in 2004. A 12" vinyl bootleg by Death Records Recordings was also produced in the Netherlands.
Included is "See Me Repeat Me", a song which would later be extensively rewritten and be transformed into "Rio".
