10-22-2006: Athens, Greece, Hellinikon Fencing Hall is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded by "soundofthunder", during The Astronaut Tour at the Hellinikon Fencing Hall in Athens, Greece on 22 October 2006.

About the album[]

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Hellinikon Fencing Hall, a 10,000 capacity venue built for the 2004 Summer Olympics. This was the second show performed in Greece on the tour.

The band line-up featured guitarist Dominic Brown, who replaced Andy Taylor after the Monte Carlo concert on 4 August.

The two hour show began in a darkened arena with flashing white lights and a recording of "Burning the Ground", a megamix featuring various Duran Duran hits. Several minutes later the stage ignited into light, when Duran Duran launched their concert with "Hungry Like the Wolf". Performing in front of huge video screens, the band continued the show as black & white images were projected.

After a rocking performance of "Hold Back the Rain", the band then covered The Power Station's "Some Like It Hot", a song extensively played during The Big Live Thing Tour.

A highly-charged version of "The Wild Boys" finished the show.

Tickets for the event cost around 45.00 Euros.
