05 / 02 / 1994 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Dilate Your Mind Tour at Le Zénith in Paris, France on 5 February 1994.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at Le Zénith, a 7,000 capacity venue located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. This was the only show performed in France on the tour.
Originally scheduled for 20 September 1993, the show was re-scheduled due to Simon Le Bon's throat problems that forced the Rotterdam concert to finish after only six songs.
Taking to the stage at 8:00pm, Duran Duran burst into the upbeat and rocky "Too Much Information". With lyrics that deal mainly with the commercialisation of the music industry, the song featured power chords played by Warren Cuccurullo.
"A View to a Kill" was next, the theme to the Bond-movie which features scenes filmed near to the venue. Duran Duran's music video was also filmed near Le Zénith in Paris and used footage from A View to a Kill.
"Ordinary World" soon followed, a no.6 hit on the French SNEP Singles Chart. On tour in support of the band's 7th studio album Duran Duran, "Ordinary World" was the second of five tracks taken from the album during the evening.
Duran Duran closed the show with five songs from the 1980s, which included their most successful single "The Reflex".
The album front cover features images taken the concert tickets, which cost around 170 French Francs each.
